IMessages on the Mac is part of the Apple ecosystem that allows you to connect all your devices with your Apple ID. When you’re logged in, you receive iMessages on your computer. Your computer uses your internet connection to receive the messages you would otherwise get on your iPhone. It’s a cool feature if you want to use it.
I don't like Apple Mail and want it off of my computer. Every last bit of it. I am running Mail 7.2 and OS X 10.9.2. And it is absolutely incompatible with GMail. I have now installed PostBox 3 and it is a dream as an email client. So how to I get rid of Apple Mail and its databases from my Mac?
Hello bbc0, I understand that you are wanting to delete some archived emails but when you do they come back. What I'd first like to have you do is to close the Mail app and then hold the shift key while you relaunch it. Once the Mail app reopens, attempt to delete an email. If the email returns, I'd like to have you boot the Mac into safe mode and then attempt to delete the archived emails from there. Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a wonderful day!
Apple's Mail application, similar to many modern e-mail clients, contains a function that remembers previous recipients. As more people change e-mail addresses for work, because of a hacked. MakeUseOf offers up two different ways to mute the High Sierra notification forever. The first (and easier) method is to launch the Mac App Store and click on Updates. You should see a big banner.

Mail User Guide
Use the Mail app to send, receive, and manage email for all of your email accounts in one location. Simply add the accounts—such as iCloud, Exchange, Google, school, work, or other—you want to use in Mail.
Add an email account to use in Mail
The first time you open the Mail app on your Mac, it may prompt you to add an account. Select an account type—if you don’t see your type, select Other Mail Account—then enter your account information.
If you already added an email account, you can still add more. In Mail, choose Mail > Add Account, select an account type, then enter your account information. Make sure the Mail checkbox is selected for the account.
If you’re using an account on your Mac with other apps, such as Contacts or Messages, you can also use that account with Mail. In Mail, choose Mail > Accounts to open Internet Accounts preferences, select the account on the left, then select the Mail checkbox on the right.
